Job Description and Requirements:

Requirements:**
* Bachelor's Degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, Software Engineering, Physics or Mathematics from an accredited institution
* Five (5) to nine (9) years' general experience in an engineering discipline such as aerospace, electrical, mechanical, testing, training,
planning, information management, computer, software, telecommunications, information security, network, or other engineering
disciplines.
* At least three (3) years specialized experience leading engineering efforts and supervising engineering staff involved with the application
of satellite communications engineering disciplines.
**Clearance:**
* Ability to obtain a Secret security clearance.
**Travel:**
* CONUS and OCONUS travel will be required, up to 25% of the time.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, and Outlook).
* Proficiency with various OS versions of Windows as dated as WindowsME and Unix/Linux (Redhat).
* Proficiency with various data analysis tools and basic scripting.
* Top Secret security clearance is desired.
Duties:
* Supports engineering efforts that provide engineering, technical, and managerial direction forproblem definition, analysis, requirement
development, testing and implementation forcomplex satellite communications systems.
* Provide system integration support for SMC/RN System Engineering & Integration (SE&I;) projects from requirements generation,
development, testing, to operational acceptance.
* Support general system engineering activities in support of AFSCN.
* General testing support involving witnessing, validating and assessing Milsatcom test activities; includes test planning, creation of
documentation and data analysis.
* Support software maintenance action (SWMA) and software sustainment releases.
* Oversee software and hardware test activities to include Development Test and Evaluation (DT&E;), Operational Test and Evaluation
(OT&E;), test deficiency reporting, test reviews and readiness reviews.
* Participate, witness, assess and report on AFSCN project DT&E;/OT&E; testing in Colorado Springs andAFSCN remote sites.
* Analyze software and hardware requirements to ensure feasibility of design and test.
* Evaluate and develop test procedures to verify requirements and to ensure deficiencies are adequately tested with new releases and
upgrades.
* Evaluate and generate test plans and test reports containing data analyses and recommendations. Subject matter expert providing
engineering and testing expertise in support of development and operational test of Milsatcom space systems, to include AFSatellite
Control Network (AFSCN) Range, Communications, and Network Management Systems.
* Develop and assess test approach with the purpose of performing statistical analysis to evaluate system performance. Test approach
may include the inclusion of scenario injection, M&S;, or real-world system operations.
* Support the development and coordination of test reporting documents and test report briefings; assess evaluation results from the 17
TS.
* Direct data collection activities and verify all required test objectives are complete.
* Evaluate data and assess system performance using the collected test data, the validated truth data, and the methodologies and tools
developed during test planning
* Write and assess technical reports to accurately describe problems encountered during testing, analysis techniques, and ratings for all
measures
* Asses and make recommendations on system development, improvements, optimization, testing and/or support efforts.
* Perform risk assessments and analyses employing modeling and simulation techniques.
* Additional AFSCN system duties as assigned by the SMC SE&I; team
